Wheat grass comes
from the sprouted
wheat grain. It is
a nutrient rich
grass that contains
high levels of
vitamins,
macro-minerals and
trace minerals. It
also contains a
significant amount
of chlorophyll, a
very nutritious
substance because it
contains large
amounts of
magnesium.
|
|
Chlorophyll is
useful for
increasing the
oxygenation of
tissues because a
molecule of
chlorophyll
resembles the human hemoglobin
(oxygen-carrying)
molecule.
By speeding the
release of toxins
from the bloodstream
chlorophyll makes
wheat grass a valued
supplement for
detoxification.
Wheat grass is also
reported to
alleviate anemia,
reduce cancerous
growths and improve
mental health
disorders.
As a supplement
wheat grass is found
in tablets, as a
powder or as a
freeze-dried
liquid. If you plan
to sprout your own
wheat be sure to get
a variety of wheat
berries that are
suitable for
sprouting and have
not be irradiated.
Seeds and grains are
irradiated to kill
the active plant and
prevent them from
sprouting. Green
food supplements are
combinations of
medicinal foods and
herbs, and may
contain wheat grass.
There are no known
toxicities, side
effects or
contraindications to
the use of wheat
grass. |
