Insomnia can be such a frustrating thing to deal with so it is especially important to establish a good nighttime routine. This article is really helpful. I appreciate how it touches on different causes of insomnia such as low blood sugar. Maybe you need to have a high protein or high fibre snack before bed to stabilize your blood sugar and things like that I also appreciate the different vitamins to help with stress as stress can really play into pretty much every aspect of your life so it’s really important to have it well managed or have the tools supplements and things like that to be able to help it so thank you for sharing

Hello Rachel,
We're sorry you used to suffer insomnia, that is very frustrating to not be getting quality sleep. We're glad you found a way to overcome it. We're happy you enjoyed this read and hope some of these supplements can help. Melatonin is a great option to help balance your circadian rhythm and magnesium is also a great nighttime supplement. You can find some good varieties here: https://www.nationalnutrition.ca/minerals/single-minerals/magnesium.html

I used to suffer very bad insomnia. This stopped when I started to go to bed later I think my circadian rhythms are more nocturnal, haha!). Sometimes, though, I still have trouble falling asleep. Currently, it is a colder season and I probably spent 20 minutes trying to fall asleep or rather...fidgetting!: adjusting my blankets, pillow, etc....I wonder if I simply need to invest in a fixed position pillow and/or a mattress cover that adjusts temperature so that way, I have the comfort needed to slip into sleep quickly. Thank you for another helpful article that made me think critically about what more I can do to promote my own wellness, NN!

I tried the melatonin after being told that perhaps my levels might be low. I have always had a lot of difficulty falling asleep, and if I happen to wake up for any reason, it is hard to fall back to sleep. The melatonin really helps and is a very cost effective way to help improve sleep.

Hello Roger,
Sleep hygiene is very important and often overlooked. Magnesium, especially RelaxMG formula, is a great supplement to support a good nights rest, as is stopping caffeine and even electronics usage at a certain point in the night too. Consider a nightitme yoga or meditation as well. Hope these other tips help!

Happy sleeping.
