I think that cookies are best without butter and without gluten. Flours like those from brown rice and buckwheat (not included here but another flour superstar) are distinct and delicious. Coconut oil is amazing in terms of what it can do for every aspect of a cookie. I recently purchased some very delicious gluten free brown rice cookies from a local, family-owned shop and seeing this recipe makes me want to make my own (though of course I will still support local buisnesses I believe in!)

Hello O,
I couldn't agree more! There's something timeless and comforting about a good old classic oatmeal and raisin cookie. The softness of the oatmeal, the sweetness of the raisins, and that warm, cozy feeling they give when enjoyed just a little bit warm... it's pure bliss. And hey, adding some chocolate chips to the mix sounds like a delicious twist. Plus, that dash of cinnamon for extra coziness? Perfection! It's no wonder cookies are your favourite. Thanks for sharing your love for these delightful treats and here's some information on the health benefits of cinnamon, check out this article: https://www.nationalnutrition.ca/articles/supplements/cinnamon/

Have a healthy day!

Something about a good old classic oatmeal and raisin cookie is so satisfying and something that grows on you with age in my opinion! I love how soft the oatmeal makes the cookies and they are so satisfying while just a little bit warm. Perfect for colder weather! Raising a with a mix of some chocolate chips would be great too and I love a dash of cinnamon to make it extra cozy! Cookies are my favourite.

Hello Nicole,
Cookies are great with a coffee, but when you use whole food ingredients and make them yourself, you know exactly what's in it and these are just like eating a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast! The chocolate chips sound like a nice touch, you can also use carob or cocoa nibs to keep it less sweet too.

Enjoy!

It's so hard to find gluten free goodies that still taste delish! If you don't enjoy raisins, just leave them out - or sneak in a few chocolate chips like I do :) These cookies are a classic Grandma style oatmeal raisin cookie, and I'll admit that I grab for cookies in the morning with my coffee. This recipe makes me feel less guilty about having cookies with my breakfast. Thanks for coming up with a gluten free option!

Oatmeal raisin cookies sometimes get a bad reputation but to that I say you just need to try the right kind of oatmeal raisin cookies! If they are soft and chewy, it is hard to dislike them! I love how this recipe uses flaxseeds in it to get extra nutrients and make it filled with fiber and help you stay fuller for longer! These are a great way to satisfy your cravings for cookies and still have something healthy! I love warm oatmeal raisin cookies that are not too hot but not cold either, they are such a great snack for cooler days!
