I love this guide to getting started with natural skincare. I have had a pretty good experience with Andalou Naturals so far-I love the quality of the ingredients that they use and did not know that they sold "Get Started Skin Care Essentials" kits. I think that your suggestion about diet is the best possible bit of advice out there: concsuming healthy fats and natural vitamins can greatly improve both skin tone and texture. This can eliminate the need for products, though, of couse, some body care is of course essential and good self care as well. Thanks for another great guide, NN!

Hello Kaveh,
Wonderful that you love clean body care as much as we do! Making your own is great, especially if you use ingredients like castor oil or cocoa butter. Thank you for sharing what you make and what supplements you include as well. Since you enjoy taking biotin, perhaps you'd like to learn more about it: https://www.nationalnutrition.ca/articles/supplements/biotin/

I create my own body care products at home. I have made most of them using high quality unrefined organic virgin coconut oil, which I got from here. Then i add baking soda, and then some kind of essential oil like lavender or peppermint. I also have Salmon collagen which I add, or I add red algae minerals for the calcium, if I am making toothpaste (also made of coconut oil and baking soda plus himalayan pink salt). Otherwise, I make sure to take Biotin alongside other B vitamins in order to get the skin and hair health, especially for my beard. I find Biotin helps a lot. I also take the Biotin with carrot juice, as it likes the Vitamin A as much as the B vitamins, since it is itself a B vitamin, B7 I think?
