Hello Kaveh,
Indeed, collagen is known for hair, skin and nail health, but it also protects your joint health too. It's important to be getting all types of collagen in the proper ration based off your natural collagen production. Discover more about these types here: https://www.nationalnutrition.ca/articles/supplements/collagen-2/

Collagen is really important for your joints, bones and especially if you have a family history of osteoporosis, my mother. I read bovine collagen is the best for that, but I actually have marine collagen in the form of salmon collagen, which is type 1, which is better for hair, skin health and anti-aging. The good stuff for joints is apparently type 2, which I don't have because I am vegetarian. Don't know what to do about that. I have stress so don't my cortisol to lower my collagen in my joints. Will have to find a way to fix that issue. My mother refuses to use collagen, I will have to find an enticing way to get her to try it. She needs it for her joints.

Great informative article! That said, I'd love to see more information about WHERE the evidence for collagen comes from and the quality of that evidence. I agree that side effects seem minimal don't think that the available evidence weighs in so strongly for collagen in the long term (though there appears to be some short term potential). It would be awesome if you referenced some more studies explicitly to support these claims and reccomendations or even referenced multiple studies with a mix of findings to allow readers to come to their own conclusions
