I take Magnesium biglycinate in capsule form. I don't think it;s the best brand so I will be careful next time, but it does the job. I can feel it working inside. When you are stressed, your body needs magnesium especially if you're tired or have anxiety, muscle tension. I take magnesium at night with calcium and lysine. Magnesium helps us relax. I recommend it only after Vitamin D, which is the most important supplement. Number 2 is Magnesium, make sure it's the right form.

Hello Rachel,
You're welcome! We're thrilled that our article on magnesium supplements caught your interest and sparked your curiosity. The potential interaction between magnesium, the gut microbiome, and medications like digoxin is indeed a fascinating topic to explore further. The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in various aspects of our health, including nutrient metabolism and drug interactions.

While research on this specific topic is still evolving, it's plausible that the gut microbiome may influence how magnesium is processed in the body and potentially impact its effects. Exploring relevant studies on PubMed tonight sounds like an excellent plan to deepen your understanding.

We're glad you found our article informative and engaging, since you're enjoying our magnesium series, we think you'll also enjoy learning about the benefits of iron, https://www.nationalnutrition.ca/articles/research/iron-supplement/

Happy reading!

Wow- thank you for breaking down everything with magnesium supplements and so many things that magnesium can do!! I'm curious:digoxin is metabolized by the gut microbiome and obviously antibiotics affect the gut microbiome as well: might some side-effects of magnesium (and benefits, too) be mediated by the gut microbiome? This is definitely a brain-worm now and I'm going to be sating my curiousity on PubMed tonight. Thank you fo another good read and oppuritunity to get curious & learn with this article :)
