Magnesium biglycinate is the form I have. I am considering making it into a topical cream. I just got the tiny jars and can now make homemade ointments, creams, lotions, whatever I like. I will make a strong Magnesium topical cream for sore muscles. I suppose I can add a bit of Calcium, from vegetarian sources, red mineral algae. I can make it nice and strong. I already made a Devil's claw hand cream. Another papaya hand lotion. Msm/ginger lotion. Boswelia/bromelain. All designed for joint pain.

Vitamins versus minerals feels like such a simple, second-nature topic to me: but that said I have a biology PhD and for people who didn't like their science courses, I can see how concepts such as these are not always common knowledge. I like how you explain the difference between essential and nonessential minerals too. Finally, your guide to different magnesium types is very practical; there are many varieties of magnesium, each best suited for particular uses and you do an excellent job not only explaining biological benefits of each form but also providing an explination of the strengths/weaknesses of different formats (powder, liquid, topical) in the context of everyday use. Excellent article!!
