      <description><![CDATA[As you mention, beta carotene is considered a safer way of supplementing vitamin A than vitamin A retinol from animal-based foods, as beta-carotene is non-toxic and is converted by the liver to vitamin A in only the amount required by the body while the retinol form can induce toxicity in excess (which is one reason why overdose of multivitamins or too much cod liver oil can be lethal). Thank you for putting this note first and formost in your article, National Nutrition, as this is very relevant for health (and nencourages people to eat their veggies!)]]></description>
