Hello Rachel,
Thank you for your comment and learning about Griffonia with us. Indeed, too much serotonin can be unhealthy and toxic; therefore, those taking medications that boost serotonin should consult their health care practitioner before taking certain supplements. If you'd like to learn more about serotonin's role in the body, check out this video on our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl1i8Ra04QA

It seems my inbox is always stuffed with advertisements for nootropics, none of which I've purchased, by the way. I have seen Lion's Mane, Ashawaganda, L-theanine, and...more unusual ingredients too. But, I have yet to see Griffonia. The 5-HTP content sounds like a huge benefit for a nootropic formulation. I was wondering why I have not seen it around in supplements but you answered the quesion for me in the end with the important information section: I had never heard of seretonin sickness before and there are quite a few side effects and medication interactions to be aware of taking Griffonia!
