I liked this article and I hope that you take this as an extra compliment considering that I study the human gut microbiome. I really appreciate that you mention strain differences because this is huge in the field and very important for the health effects linked with particular specied. Also, just to add a fun fact, B. infantis is so named due to being most common in chilcren :)
Anyway, thank you so much for this great article and I look forward to reading more of your gut microbe articles! :)

Hello Angela,

There are many strains of probiotics and taking them daily is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Our gut health is a major component in our overall well being and when it's not happy, the rest of our body isn't either. Often people enjoy the shelf-stable probiotics for ease of storage and use. Garden of Life makes dairy free probiotics as well as Genstra, which I've linked here for you. You may also enjoy our article on all strains of probiotics.

We take probiotics for digestive health. This article reminded me to take it daily versus only a couple times a week.

Wow, did not know there were so many types of Bifidobacteria with multiple applications/benefits.

Interesting that Bifidobacteria can also help to improve allergic conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. I will pass on this information to a family member!

Now, I will check our bottle of Probiotics to see the types of Bifidobacteria, and this newfound knowledge will help, when shopping for future bottles.

Thank you for such an informative read!
