Rice bran is the very best of rice: for example, while rice is typically lower fiber as a whole grain, rice bran is an excellent source of fibre, with a full 2g/tbsp!! Also, as you mention, the bran's oil can be as a moisturizer which can treat eczema (my Brother, who suffers from eczema, has yet to try it though he is planning on it!) and allergic dermatitis. Also amazing is that like certain other foods & fibers, once ingested, the oil in rice bran can help reduce cholesterol absorption and thus increase its elimination. So, overall, a very nice part of rice!
