      <description><![CDATA[Wow! 4.5-9g a day! The spiny dogfish is only 6.6-20 pounds in weight so the average weight of ~10 pounds with 5-8% of this being skeleton (since cartilage is lighter than bone) yields under .5 kilogram of cartilage. Generouly assuming that ALL of this cartilage is useable for supplements, that mean that to attain the minimum optimal dosage of 4500mg/day, it would take about five whole sharks per year! I wonder: might larger sharks such as the great white be harvested for cartilage, given how much larger they are? Also are there vegan alterntives with similar effects?
