      <description><![CDATA[I wish you mentioned that a large amount of seratonin is actually generated in the gut! In fact "sera" is a part of the name (this is actually where the name derives from). I would have loved to see some discussion of the gut and tryptophan/seratonin metabolism because this is hugely important for relevant health effects. Anyway, this is still a great article with good chemistry recap and information. Also, I didn't know serotonin isn't safe for direct administration-I would be interested to know why!]]></description>
