This is such an amazing guide to tea!! There are so many excellent points and health benefits you bring up, but one area that I really want to focus on is bone health. I didn't know that EGCG has been demonstrated to prevent or reduce joint degeneration and osteoarthritis. And that it has also been used to help reduce the incidence of osteoporosis in the elderly!!! Green tea also actually makes an excellent mouthwash given it inhibits the growth of cariogenic bacteria, is alkaline (of course, this varies by tea & one should ph test to determine the level of alkalinity) and contains natural flouride, which strengthens the teeth. I am so thankful for tea and I appreciate you expanding my knowledge on the topic- tee-hee (lame pun intended!)

Hello Roger,

Tea is an excellent hot beverage of choice as even the black or caffeinated teas have less caffeine than coffee and they often have many herbal benefits for further support. Herbal teas are especially nice to provide relaxation and go well during a bedtime routine. We're glad you enjoy your teas and hope you found more that you can enjoy from our article.

Stay healthy & well!

I am a tea drinker, been for ever since I can remember. I drink mostly black orange pekoe. It has great health benefits, one of the biggest one is it relaxes you having a cuppa! I add cream to the black tea and enjoy it a few times a day. Although I love coffee, I am unable to drink it very often, so tea it is!
