The name prunus amygdalus dulcisi is so pretty; I love how nice the Latin makes it sound. And I didn't know that in order to get sweet almond oil the almonds are cold-pressed (this is such a gentle and nice mode of processing)!! Also, I was unaware that sweet almond oil had so many healthy-promoting uses including for the skin and joints; I had always just imagined almond oil as a delicious & distinctive ingredient for baked goods as opposed to a health-promoting ingredient-thank you so much for openning my eyes to this totally different side of sweet almond oil. It's warming to imagine that this little addition make's my Nan's Christmas cookies at least a little bit kind to the body, in addition to being potently nourishing for the soul <3

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this article about sweet almond oil. While almond oil can be used in baking, it's important to note that it must be food grade in order to be safe for digestion. Sweet almond oil that's used in a therapeutic setting should not be ingested and only used topically for aromatherapy applications.
