Floradix Epresat Multivitamin
An easily absorbed, delicious, daily liquid multivitamin you can drink in one delicious gulp!

What's Not in It?
Epresat contains no additives, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, colourings and fillers. For this reason, Epresat Multivitamin is ideal for people with allergies and food sensitivities. It does not contain the unnecessary ingredients that are used to bind tablets and chewables together, which can interfere with absorption. This liquid multivitamin is all natural, whereas, many chewable multivitamins contain dyes, fillers and artificial sweeteners and flavours. Because it is plant-based, Epresat is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.

Liquid vs. Solid
Are you getting all the supplemental nutrition you need from your solid vitamins? Solid vitamins are held together with binders and are coated with substances to help them keep their perfect shape. To break through this coating and break down the vitamin requires a lot of stomach acid. Some people, especially children and the elderly, don't have enough stomach acid to actually access the nutrients in a solid vitamin. Consequently, tablets, capsules and chewables often exit the body undigested, providing little benefit to the person taking them. The average person only breaks down between 20 percent and 40 percent of solid vitamin and if you have digestive system difficulties you will experience even more difficulty. Liquid vitamins are the wave of the future. Unlike solid vitamins, liquid vitamins do not need to be broken down by the body before the active ingredients can be released and absorbed. A liquid vitamin is easier to swallow than solid ones and is great for those who need to avoid sweeteners, who are picky eaters and need extra nutrition. It's also for those with allergies or malabsorption issues, offering a no-fuss solution to your daily vitamin routine.

    QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

    Q:Source of Vit A? A: Retinol
    A:Vitamin A can come from 3 sources:
1.Fish liver oil as liquid vitamin A, usually in soft gelatine capsules2.Made from sources like milk, eggs and dairy
    3.Manufactured (synthetic)
Salus Haus uses the 2nd method. When a vitamin is made, it goes through numerous steps and purifications. Therefore the end product contains no trace of animal parts and is suitable for vegetarian, but not vegan use.
In this case, no animal is killed in the making of the product and the end product does not contain any dairy or protein.

    Q:Source of Vitamin B's?
A:It is a product of the fermentation process of the culture of Streptomyces griseus.

Q:Is the Kola seed in the formula the same as Kola nut, which provides caffeine??
A:Yes. There is no need to worry about caffeine content in Epresat however, as the amount is very low.

Q:Is the brown algae in the formula a type of kelp? A: Yes, it is. It is called Bladderwrack.

Q:What sweeteners are used in the tonic? A: Epresat - fructose & orange, passion fruit, guava, apricot juice concentrates

Q:Is there any gluten in the tonic?
A:Wheat germ may contain trace amount of gluten but lower than the level of detection in the finished product.

Q.What kind of Yeast is in the Epresat? A. It is Brewers' Yeast and is an Inactive.

    HEALTH CONCERNS:
    Q:
Diabetic info: Carbohydrate content of Epresat?
A:There is 12.6 g of fructose in 100 ml of the liquid. 12 g is equal to 1 BU (Bread Unit).
So there is approx. 1 BU in every 100 ml of liquid.

Q:Is Epresat safe during pregnancy? I'm concerned about the Blessed Thistle.
A:Yes it is safe. The Blessed Thistle is in non-medicinal amounts and not enough to be of any concern.

    MANUFACTURING:
    Q:
What can cause the lumps in the tonic?
A:Our supplier has sent us the following explanation: The sample bottle was examined, and it was found that the liquid in it had also thickened. However, we also discovered that thorough shaking could re-liquefy the lumps. We understand the consumer's complaints, but we do confirm that these lumps do not influence the quality of the product.

This build up is caused by the thickening agent in the tonic. Epresat does not contain any chemical stabilizers, so this agent is necessary. This agent is sodium alginate, and it has a tendency to become more solid when it stands still for longer periods of time. This thickening is a desired characteristic, because it is through this process that the separation of the fat soluble vitamins is prevented. Our research & development department is working on improving the formulation, which may include another thickening agent in order to prevent such problems in future.

Q:Please explain the reasoning behind using Vit D3
A:It is correct that we use the form of vitamin D3 (colecalciferol) in our products which comes from lanolin (wax) on lamb's wool. The labelling states "vegetarian liquid formula" on Canadian and US labels. Our understanding of a 'vegetarian' diet allows products such as milk, eggs or honey as long as the animal is not killed - consequently also the vitamin D used in our tonics is also acceptable. Vegans look at 'vegetarian' differently. They refuse these foods as well as refusing to use leather and wool, therefore our vitamin D3 is also unacceptable. For them, all these products are the result of "animal exploitation".

    Boosting Your Immune System
Reduced in activity by stress, nutrient deficiencies and toxins in the body, your immune system response can be optimized with the right food, supplements and approach to life

The immune system is the police force of the body. It is a complex system of cells that defend the body from invading organisms, regulate inflammation and control abnormal cell growth. Many organs are involved in the immune response, the bone marrow, lymphatic system, thymus, liver and spleen. Bone marrow produces red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.

The spleen is a location where immune cells can monitor the blood for foreign matter. It also speeds up red blood cell production and activates blood clotting. The liver can increase body temperature and induce sweating to help fight off infections. The thymus produces B cells, which make antibodies, and T cells, which are part of the immune response.

The immune system is capable of fighting off intruders and remembering them so that they are killed off quickly if they invade again. The immune system must be able to differentiate self from non-self in order to know what to attack. If it does not recognize the body's own tissue than autoimmune diseases occurs.
