Dosage
Mix 1 scoop (8 g) with 148-177 mL (5-6 oz.) of cold water (vary the amount of water to achieve your desired flavour and sweetness level) and consume 30-45 minutes before training. To achieve maximum results take on an empty stomach.

This product contains caffeine and should be avoided by those sensitive to caffeine. This product contains the naturally occurring amino acid beta-alanine, which may cause a tingling skin sensation in some individuals similar to niacin flush. This effect should diminish after a few hours and should ultimately subside after days of continuous use. Although rare, individuals with the genetic disorder hyper beta-alaninemia should not use this product.
BETA ALANINE
Beta alanine boosts muscle carnosine content, which allows for an increase in lean muscle mass…
Unlike the common form of alanine that is used to build the proteins in our bodies, the beta form is not used in protein synthesis. Beta-alanine is an amino acid that acts as a precursor of carnosine. In fact, carnosine levels are limited by the amount of beta-alanine available in the system. Taking in additional beta-alanine can ensure optimal carnosine synthesis.
Amino Acids
Protein is the second most abundant substance in our body, only water is more plentiful. Proteins are composed of amino acids, linked together by peptide bonds. When we eat protein the body must break these bonds in the digestive tract. Then single amino acids, or amino acids in short chains, are absorbed into the body, where they are reassembled into whatever substance the body needs.
Benefits
Scientific studies have shown that beta alanine can increase muscular strength, muscle mass, anaerobic and aerobic endurance, and delayed muscular fatigue. Beta alanine is an effective way to train longer and harder. Both men and women can benefit from supplementing with with beta alanine as well as weight lifters, body builders, high intense cross trainers, military personal, runners, cyclists, soccer players, hockey players, specific training that requires both strength and endurance and those who live active life styles who have reached a plateau and are looking for something to give them that extra boost.
Muscle Building
Supplementation with beta-alanine has been shown to increase the concentration of carnosine in muscle cells. In one study, daily supplementation with beta-alanine resulted in an average of 80% increase in intramuscular carnosine content. This has been shown to promote an increase in lean muscle mass in advanced athletes, even if weight is lost during supplementation. Higher muscle carnosine content is also associated with more fast-twitch muscle fibres, like those required by sprinters. For more information, please see our Carnosine article.
How can I take beta-alanine?
The studied dose for supplementation to increase muscle carnosine content was 3.2-6.4g daily, over a period of 4-10 weeks. Beta-alanine can also be ingested through animal proteins in the diet, such as: beef, fish and poultry. Beta-alanine can provide a stimulant response so it is best taken as a pre-work out supplement.
