I never heard about oregano for a cold or flu. I have a bit of a sore throat right now. I have some in the pantry somewhere. I will try this. I see garlic is popular in the comments as well. That is good because garlic is so easy and delicious for a recipe ingredient. I did not realize vitamin D was useful to stop colds. This makes that colds are more common in the winter, more understandable for me. Yes I have heard about the vitamin C. I think everybody has. The ones that start with A you mention at the end...never heard about! Worth a shot, though

Just about everybody in my apartment (except for me!) just recovered from the flu. I haven't gotten the flu or any other major conventional infectious disease in YEARS. I think this is largely due to a healthy diet and good lifestyle. So, I really value the idea of natural supplements as opposed to pharmaceutical intervention. And, prevention is better than cure! I use oregano regularly myself and always do a great job getting in vitamin C and vitamin A precursor from foods such as sweet potato. I never heard about andrographis but will have to read more on it; it sounds interesting!!

Immunity is going to be a big issue in the future, it's so important not to get sick. Make your body into a health fortress. Oregano Oil I use when I am sick. It's strong and useful. I take Vitamin D drops. I take Vitamin C via lemons with Echinacea alongside Elderberry. The tea is especially nice.
Astragalus I take for stress but also for colds, nice combo. Goldenseal is something new I take with echinacea. I combine many teas, capsules, and tinctures until I feel better. It works everytime. I avoid being sick for many days and can beat it faster with supplements.

I am currently suffering with a cold/flu and it's already been 6 days, I have decided to let it run it's course naturally without taking any medications (Advil, Tylenol, etc.), although I am now so desperate for it to just be over that I am considering taking meds. I'm glad I came across this article as maybe I can still take the natural route and speed up my recovery time as well. Thanks for the great info!
