This is the type of collagen I have. Type 1 from marine (salmon) collagen. I am glad to hear it is useful for anti aging, fighting wrinkles, and keeping the hair, skin and nails looking good. It's good for the confidence to see yourself looking healthy. The skin is the largest organ you have so it must be kept immaculate at all times. You don't want to mess around with your skin. And the sun can do that for you. Marine collagen can help with skin issues better than bovine collagen, which is better for joints. I always take it with Vitamin C, or I take it with MSM, but since it's type 1, maybe with Vitamin C is best.

Hello Rachel,
Thank you for your positive feedback and insightful comment. We appreciate your understanding of the importance of a well-balanced diet and the benefits it brings compared to relying solely on one approach. Your mention of vitamins obtained from whole food sources is indeed an excellent example, highlighting the significance of obtaining nutrients through natural means. We are glad you found our paragraph about precautions thought-provoking, as we believe that taking an individualized approach to considering interventions for holistic health is crucial. If you have any further questions or would like to explore more topics related to wellness, please feel free to reach out.

"The topical creams don't work nearly as well as eating well-balanced meals that contain plenty of fruits and veggies, as well as daily supplementation with collagen."=>I love this comment!! Just as vitamins in isolation do not harbor nearly the benefits (and even sometimes harbor risks) when compared to vitamins obtained from whole food sources, vitamin E being one of the best examples. I also really love your paragraph about precautions which invites curiosity, learning, an individualized approach to considering collagen-based interventions to support holistic health

Hello O,
Absolutely! Taking care of our skin becomes even more crucial as we age. It's easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and neglect our skin health, but it's never too late to start prioritizing it. You're right, replacing water with coffee can dehydrate our skin, so staying hydrated is key. And you nailed it with the essentials - a good sunscreen, healthy diet, and proper hydration are all important for maintaining collagen and promoting healthy skin. And let's not forget about mental health too! Stress can take a toll on our skin, so having a great mental health toolbox is definitely beneficial, you can find some tips in this article: https://www.nationalnutrition.ca/articles/health-concerns/stress/

Have a healthy day!

The importance of collagen and good skin health while aging is closely linked in a lot of ways. I find that the older I get the more I tend to forget about my skin health with the busy day or replacing water with coffee. As a kid coffee was never in my diet and it was always water so I am sure that helps your skin too! A good sunscreen, a healthy diet, and proper hydration as well as a great mental health tool box is all so important to maintain collagen and healthy skin!
