What is Rescue Remedy?
Rescue Remedy is one of the only emergency combination products designed by Dr. Edward Bach. It is made up of a specific combination of five different flower essences and is designed to provide comfort and reassurance to help with the stresses of daily life. It helps to restore inner calm, control, and focus. This product is made up of:
- Rock Rose – for terror and panic
- Impatiens – for irritation and impatience
- Clematis – for lack of focus
- Star of Bethlehem – for shock
- Cherry Plum – for irrational thoughts and a lack of self-control
Top Benefits of Rescue Remedy
Rescue Remedy has been used successfully on stressful days where people suffer from impatience, tension and pressure. It has also been used successfully with children to stop a tantrum, or before a speech or job interview. Rescue® Remedy helps promote relaxation, focus, and calmness.
Supplement Varieties
Rescue Remedy® is available in a variety of different formats including the traditional liquid, but also gum, spray, pastilles, and cream.
Cautions & Considerations
Many people choose to carry Rescue Remedy® in their purse, at the office, in the car or in the diaper bag. You never know when you need it. Pregnant women in labour have made the experience easier and less traumatic by taking Rescue Remedy®. It can also be taken just before going to bed to calm a troubled mind.

Rescue Remedy is super when you're feeling stressed or really fatigued. If you haven't tried it yet, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good stress reducing supplement, because, like all Bach Flower remedies, this one is fast acting. It comes in a spray form, which is great for when you're experiencing stress away from home. Just a couple of sprays will usually make a difference for my mood. Works well when you take it with chamomile tea, too.
Rescue Remedy sounds like a great synergistic mixture of natural ingredients and I am glad to have read Margot's comment which provides ancedotal evidence for the effectiveness of Rescue Remedy in daily stress and fatigue. It is also interesting that Dr. Bach has other flower remedys. I wonder: have any of these remedies been studied scientifically? Also, how do these remedies smell and what inspired Dr. Bach to explore this alternative path of medicine? I'll have to read more. Thank you for this great article!
