Hair Loss

Frizzy Dry Hair
The body naturally produces an oily secretion called sebum that moisturizes and nourishes the hair as it grows. This is the familiar oil that builds up on your hair between washings. It acts as a protective barrier to keep moisture in the hair, and helps to prevent frizzing and breakage. When there isn't enough sebum present, the hair can become frizzy and dry, which eventually leads to increased breakage. This can be caused by the body not producing enough sebum, as in cases of Hypothyroidism or other hormonal imbalances, or by external treatments stripping away this protective layer. Normal shampooing removes only a part of the sebum surrounding the hair shaft, leaving some behind to protect the hair and produce shine. Excessively shampooing or using harsh chemicals on the hair for cleansing or processing (straightening, perms, or dying) can strip the sebum layer and damage the hair shaft itself.

Although a dry scalp may occur to any of us at times, true dandruff is an inflammatory condition that causes increased shedding of the skin of the scalp. I have 4a/4b hair and the only products I use is a protein treatment every 4 weeks, organic coconut oil and AO honeysuckle rose conditioner! my curls are defined, my hair feels/is very moist and soft and I love the way it smells! I've love this conditioner! I did my big chop 5 months ago and I'm in love with this product I have 4a/4b hair (not mixed) and it deep conditions and defines my curl so perfectly! I'm back buying my 3rd bottle of this stuff. a big jar or container would be very helpful! on top of this product and organic coconut oil my hair is thriving! don't change a thing AO!!!
For years I have battled with very dry and brittle hair. I have tried every expensive (and not so expensive) product out there. One use of the AO Honeysuckle Rose conditioner and I am sold, this my staple deep conditioner. I apply to wet hair after shampooing and sit under a heated dryer for 30 minutes...OMG!!
This just might be the best conditioner that I have ever used. It is a real miracle worker for super dry, brittle hair. And the smell is quite nice, not too strong. Smells much better than the other AO conditioners. Love it!
