What makes Hepatica unique?

Hepatica is a unique combination of herbs that helps to protect the liver, gall bladder and gently removes toxins. A yearly preventative liver and gallbladder cleansing with occasional flushes for removal of stones/gravel is a proactive approach for the maintenance of good health.

Some of the symptoms that may indicate a need to cleanse the liver:

  • Pain in the right upper abdomen

  • Headaches

  • Blurred Vision

  • Anemia

  • Sciatica

  • Neck or shoulder pain

  • Constipation

  • Irritability/anger

  • Dizziness

  • Frigidity or impotence

  • Weakness of muscles and tendons

  • History of Gall stones, Jaundice, Hepatitis

Liver Health

The liver is the largest gland in the body and one of the most important organs. It has many functions. It produces bile, the digestive juice that breaks down fats and helps to absorb fat-soluble vitamins. Bile also stimulates intestinal contractions, to promotes regularity, and converts beta-carotene into vitamin A. The liver acts as filter for all of the blood in the body.

Blood from the intestines, carrying nutrients, goes to the liver where some vitamins and minerals are stored. The liver also metabolizes fat into cholesterol, phospholipids (for cell membranes) and lipoproteins (for carrying other molecules). The liver plays a role in blood sugar regulation by making glucose tolerance factor. Sugar can be stored in the liver for later use and extra food is converted to fat by the liver and then transported to the fatty tissue.

The liver also filters ammonia, a natural by-product of protein breakdown, environmental toxins, medications and alcohol. It changes these harmful products into less harmful metabolites that can then be put back into circulation and excreted by the kidneys and intestines.

The last function of the liver is in hormone metabolism. It converts thyroid hormone into its most active form and breaks down hormones like sex hormones, adrenaline and insulin when they are not needed.

The liver can become damaged from infection, excessive alcohol consumption, medications and recreational drugs, environmental toxins and stress. Fortunately it is also the only internal organ that has the capacity to regenerate itself.

Gallstones

The gallbladder is a reservoir for the digestive juice, called bile, which the liver produces. It holds the bile until it is needed for the digestion of fats. At this time the gallbladder contracts and pushes bile out into the intestine. Gallbladder attacks occur when stone-like precipitates, which build up in the gallbladder over time, are forced through the outlet ducts into the intestine.

Most of these precipitates are made of cholesterol and form as a result of a lack of fibre, excess cholesterol, decreased liver function, lack of bile and lack of bile movement.

Symptoms of gallbladder colic include recurrent, intense, cramping pain under the right ribcage or over the right shoulder. Nausea, vomiting, fever and chills may accompany the pain. If the stone remains lodged, and bile flow is blocked, jaundice (itchy yellow skin), infection and pancreatitis can result. Gallbladder attacks are often precipitated by the consumption of rich, fatty or creamy foods. The bile is also a conduit for processed toxins from the liver. Gallbladder problems can also manifest with symptoms of liver toxicity like headaches, a bitter taste in the mouth, irritability and bloating or pressure under the right ribcage.

Conventional treatment involves surgery to remove the entire gallbladder or just the stones. Medication for high cholesterol may also be given. The most troublesome side effect of some cholesterol medication is an increased risk of depression and suicide amongst it's users. These drugs also deplete vital nutrients for heart health such as coenzyme Q10. Total removal of the gallbladder has similar side effects to cholesterol medications that bind cholesterol in the intestines. Both of these interventions decrease the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins, A, D, E and K and essential fatty acids.

Testimonials

1. Hepatica: Insomnia

Dear Doctor,
I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and used to suffer terribly from insomnia. Ornithine did not seem to help me and in order to get any sleep at all, I had to take 2 Melatonin and 2 Valerian Root capsules every night.
Eventually I tried your Hepatica Liver Cleanse. After the first cleanse, I had several nights of good sleep. After my sixth cleanse, my insomnia was pretty much cured. I still suffer from occasional sleep problems but they don't have the severity they did in the past. I think that perhaps an overloaded liver may cause insomnia in some people.
Thank you and all the best,
IM, Ottawa, ON

2. Hepatica: Gall stones

Hi Dr. Aleks,

3. Hepatica: Gall stones

Jan. 10/2006

Dear Doctor Aleks,

I have experienced intense pain under the last rib on the right side, was taken to hospital where was through ultrasound discovered the presence of stones. I was scheduled for surgery the next day. My husband suggested to call Knowledge Products, to see whether there is any natural solution, without surgery. I was suggested to abstain from solid foods, use Hepatica and do Liver flushes immediately.
The next day I have passed about 100 stones and pain has lessened. I continued to use Hepatica and do over a year about 20 flushes. I have counted over this period of the time more than 1800 stones alltogether. Thanks for saving an important part of me.
