Method – Natural Home Cleaning

Founded in 2001, Method quickly became one of the most influential names in eco-friendly cleaning products, earning mass-market success for its blend of style, sustainability, and performance. Created to revolutionize the cleaning world, Method set out to prove that household essentials could be effective, beautifully designed, and good for the planet.

The brand expanded rapidly. Just one year after launch, Method landed on shelves at Target stores across the U.S, and by 2003, it introduced its first iconic teardrop-shaped hand wash, a product that remains a fan favourite today. By 2005, Method became widely available across Canada, marking its growth as a North American household staple.

As a proud B Corp member, Method embeds environmental and social responsibility into everything it does. The company manufactures its bottles using 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, dramatically reducing waste. Its formulations prioritize plant-based, biodegradable ingredients, and any palm oil used is RSPO-certified sustainable. All products are Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free and made without parabens, triclosan, phosphates, animal ingredients, or animal by-products.

Beyond its popular hand soap, Method offers concentrated dish soap, laundry detergent, multi-surface cleaners, and more – all made with thoughtfully chosen, environmentally conscious ingredients. Its laundry detergent is dermatologist-tested for sensitive skin, and most products are safe for surfaces kids and pets touch (with the exception of formulas containing tea tree oil).

Method products are manufactured in its award-winning Chicago facility, known for high environmental and safety standards. In 2017, Method was acquired by SC Johnson, further elevating its global reach and sustainability mission.
