Molybdenum Supplements
Molybdenum is an essential trace element, that, as its name implies, is essential to health, but only required in a very small amount each day. It is also a co-factor of four important enzymes that break down waste products and detoxify the body of harmful toxins:
- Sulfite oxidase: responsible for preventing the buildup of sulfites in the body. Sulfites are present in protein rich foods and are also used as chemical preservatives in certain foods and drugs.
- Xanthine oxidase: responsible for breaking down nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA, once they are no longer needed.
- Aldehyde oxidase: responsible for breaking down toxic aldehydes, as well as alcohol and other drugs inside the body.
- Mitochondrial amidoxime reducing component (mARC): responsible for breaking down and removing toxic by-products of metabolism.
What does Molybdenum do? In addition to helping prevent the accumulation of harmful substances inside the body, it is also involved in the metabolism of nucleic acids, DNA & RNA, iron, and sulfur, as well as the formation of uric acid. Molybdenum also helps convert food into energy and is needed for normal cell function and nitrogen metabolism.
Benefits of Molybdenum
