Using Citronella In Aromatherapy
Like many other essential oils, citronella is only appropriate for external use. Pregnant and nursing women should not use citronella oil, as it is believed to possibly affect hormone balance, and it is likewise not recommended for use in children.
Because this oil can potentially cause skin reactions, doing a skin test before using the oil is a good idea.
