DoMatcha, meaning “the Way of Tea” is a premium matcha brand sourced straight from Japan.
DoMatcha’s Rich Brand History
While DoMatcha was officially founded by John Harrison in 2005, it can be traced back to 1858 and Buhei Handa-san, a 12th-generation Tea Master and ancestor of DoMatcha’s Tea Master. He was the first company to export Japanese green tea to other countries.
John Harrison was born and raised in Japan, and upon his return, he partnered with Kazunori Handa-san, a 16th-generation tea master and one of Japan’s oldest matcha producers. Together they set out on a mission to create high-quality matcha for the international market.
With a keen sense of innovation, DoMatcha created the world’s first decaf Matcha outside Japan in 2016. Due to its high quality and rich flavour, it’s no wonder DoMatch has taken the Western world by storm.
Quality In Every Sip
Since the beginning, DoMatcha has put quality first. It sources its matcha powder directly from Japan through suppliers that harvest premium plants. The plants are shaded from direct sunlight 2 weeks before harvest, increasing the chlorophyll and L-theanine content, which results in a smooth-tasting tea. The leaves are then carefully steamed and rough fibres are removed to ensure a smooth powder that’s sweet and flavourful. After steaming, the leaves are slowly ground in traditional granite stone mills to a very fine powder, and that’s how DoMatcha’s powder is made.
DoMatcha uses the entire leaf so each cup of matcha provides the same benefits as 10 cups of steeped green tea. Its final products are all made with 100% tencha powder from Japan and are free from:
