Dr. Hauschka's Rose Day Cream is for those who suffer from sensitive, reddened, dry, weather-damaged skin, also for small blodd vessels (couperose skin). It is a protective smoothing Day Cream which contains rhythmitised base substances of rose petals and rose hips. Contains Damascus rose essential oils. Best suited for women, children and infants. Also beneficial for men with sensitive skin.

Arachis Hypogaea (Peanut) Oil
Peanut oil is used as an extracting medium for many WALA Oil Extracts and as the base for the Body Oils. It has a neutral energy that does not interfere with healing herbs. It is a very stable oil, requiring no additional antioxidants. As a massage oil, it provides an ideal glide, weight and rate of absorption. Our peanut oil is steam treated and filtered to remove the proteins which are responsible for peanut allergies. Our peanut oil has been tested and certified as aflatoxin free.
Althaea Officinalis (Marsh Mallow) Root Extract
Rich in mucilage, a humectant plant carbohydrate able to attract and hold water, marsh mallow extract hydrates and stimulates the moisture balance within the skin. Mucilaginous plants like marsh mallow are non-oily emollients (skin softeners) that promote healing of wounds, skin irritations and burns. Marsh mallow softens dry skin and promotes flexibility and resilience of connective tissues.
Rosa Gallica (Rose) Flower Wax
Collected from the waxy coating on fresh rose petals. Rose petal wax is a rare and precious ingredient that adds its protective quality to the skin by creating a light, breathable barrier.
Beeswax/Cera Flava
"Yellow wax" is a pleasant-smelling waxy substance produced by honey bees and comes from hives maintained using ecological beekeeping practices. The wax is humanely obtained. Beeswax has an open structure that provides a breathable barrier against the elements. It also serves as an emulsifier and consistency regulator.
Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil Unsaponifiables
This extract of the nutritious avocado flesh is rich in phytosterols, antioxidants including vitamins A and E, as well as a high content of unsaponifiable oils. Avocado extract is soothing and nurturing to dry skin.
Hypericum Perforatum (St. John'swort) Extract
St. John'swort is soothing to the skin and healing to wounds. It is particularly useful for strains, sprains, bruises, sciatica and back pain. One active ingredient, hypericin, has anti-inflammatory, nervine (calming) and antiseptic properties. It is often used in cosmetics for skin that is extremely sensitive, irritated or allergic.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)
Our shea butter is Certified organic from our Fair Trade project in Burkina Faso, Africa. Shea butter is obtained from the kernels contained within the nuts of the Shea tree a tree which belongs to the Sapotaceae family. It grows wild and is cultivated in the savanna of the Sudan, and headwater regions of the Niger and Nile rivers. It is valued as a food source of fat in its central African home, given that it is rich in saturated and unsaturated fatty acids as well as carotene. It resists rancidity without the addition of antioxidants probably because of its high content of antioxidant Vitamin E. Known as "Karite", it is highly valued in the cosmetic industry as a soothing moisturizer and emollient for the skin. As such, it protects against drying, accelerates healing of superficial wounds and irritations. It is well tolerated by the skin, and has a slight photo-protective action.
Fragrance/Parfum (Essential Oil)
This term denotes that the product contains a combination of 100% pure, natural essential oils. Dr.Hauschka fragrances are proprietary blends of pure essential oils specifically developed for each product. European regulations require that we list our pure essential oil scents as "Fragrance (Parfum)". No synthetic fragrance or perfume ingredients are ever used to scent Dr. Hauschka products.
Rosa Gallica (Rose) Flower Extract
Also known as "Apothecary Rose" the French rose is a European variety similar to the Rosa damascena, containing many compounds beneficial to the skin, particularly tannins which have a toning effect.
Rosa Canina (Rose Hip) Fruit Extract
Rose hip extract is high in vitamins A and C and has a strengthening effect on capillaries and connective tissue. Rose hip extracts are antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and astringent and have been used to soothe and heal irritated chapped skin. The plant, Rosa Canina, is also known as Wild Rose or Dog's Rose.
