In 1981, they opened the Efamol Research Institute to further conduct studies on essential fatty acids, and by 1989, over 30 clinical trials had been done on their Evening Primrose Oil.

Fast forward to the mid-90s; Efalex Brain Formula was launched to support children’s cognitive health, and 10 clinical studies were undertaken to determine the efficacy of DHA for children’s brain development and function.

In 2006, they were acquired by Wassen International Limited, which helped them ease into global markets. A year after this acquisition, they launched their Active Memory formula.

As early as 2014, Efamol completed the first study on active memory by assessing the effects of omega supplementation on maintaining brain function in older adults. Efamol has also worked alongside a clinical research team at the University of Roehampton to research high EPA supplementation in young adults.
