On the other hand, plant sterols and sterolins are a type of phytosterol or sterol ester, basically fats, that occur naturally in plants.
Phytosterols have a similar chemical structure to human/animal cholesterol but are esterified with fatty acids. They are found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.
One of the most impressive things about phytosterols is that because their structure is almost identical to that of cholesterol, they compete for absorption in the digestive tract.
