Phytosome is better absorbed.
Milk Thistle Phytosome is a great product for the liver. I take this daily and know I am absorbing better due to phytosome.

Natural Factors Milk Thistle Phytosome is standardized to 80% silymarin, one of the highest potencies available, it includes:

Milk Thistle- Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) has been used for thousands of years as a digestive aid, but it is most well known as a superior herb for liver and gallbladder disorders. Milk thistle's effectiveness for all sorts of liver disorders is being confirmed today through laboratory studies and extensive clinical trials. The active ingredients in milk thistle are flavonoids comprised of silybin, silydianin and silychristin - collectively known as silymarin. Milk Thistle Extract is indicated for liver disease associated with alcohol abuse, chronic hepatitis, and protects those working with toxic chemicals and other substances harmful to the liver.

Dandelion-Dandelion roots are used for digestive disorders because it stimulates the release of bile, which helps the body to digest fats. It may also help to regulate cholesterol levels. The release of bile also flushes the gallbladder and liver of processed toxins, making dandelion an excellent liver cleanser.

Turmeric- curried dishes their characteristic colour and flavour. Turmeric contains antioxidant chemicals, called curcuminoids, for neutralizing free radicals. Thus turmeric can be used to stop infections, protect the liver from toxins and may be useful in supporting healthy cell growth. The same molecules inhibit inflammation, thus acting as pain relieving agents.

artichoke- Cynarin Extract Artichoke can boast many of the same incredible liver properties as milk thistle. It protects the liver from toxins and poisons, increases bile, and helps to regenerate liver cells, making it useful for a wide range of liver and gallbladder problems.

Diet & Lifestyle Support for Healthy Liver Function

The liver is responsible for filtering the blood to remove toxins and excess hormones, and it secretes bile, which collects the waste products and carries them away from the liver. If your liver is overloaded, as is the case for most North Americans, you may be suffering from low energy levels. Supporting the liver helps detoxify the body and can help raise energy levels to new heights.
Liver supportive foods include artichokes, black radish, beets, carrots, spinach, sauerkraut, tomatoes and watercress. Make sure that you are getting enough water-soluble fibre in your diet, as found in apples, oats and supplemental inulin. They help to eliminate bile and toxins from the intestines. Avoid sugar, alcohol, red meat, trans-fatty acids and processed foods. They are difficult for the liver to process. Avoid high doses of niacin and vitamin A because they can raise liver enzymes.

Avoid excessive use of alcohol, medications and recreational drugs. Exercise promotes liver health by increasing circulation. It also stimulates the bowels to release processed toxins. Slow bowel transit time allows toxins to re-circulate in the body and forces the liver to repeat its detoxifying activity.

Traditional Asian medicine identifies emotions as a contributing agent in many disease processes. The liver is affected by anger. Anger reduction techniques, like biofeedback, or activities, such as yoga, can improve liver functioning.

Sometimes the liver's pathways are not working up to speed or become blocked. The back up of waste material makes it harder for the rest of the body to function normally and ultimately leads to disease. Since the environment in which we live makes it impossible for us to maintain a pristine lifestyle, regular liver cleansing is essential. Liver detoxification involves dietary, supplemental and physical interventions. For more information see the article on detoxification.
