Great for Menopausal Females
Incredible results from this product which has been able to almost totally reverse vaginal atrophy. This was recommeded by my naturopath. The results were felt within two weeks. Painful intercourse was eliminated not to mention that I've noticed my skin looking more hydrated as well.

For Bowels, Skin and More
Underwent life-changing surgery for rectal cancer in 2021, and now have a permanent colostomy and an ileal conduit (urostomy). Among the supplements I've worked with on a daily basis since that time, I've relied upon Seabuckthorn Oil to maintain mucus membrane and intestinal health in general, and to benefit from the additional healing properties of this New Roots formulation. I tried the Sibu brand, but found it less effective. The New Roots version is quite a bit more expensive, but very much worth it in my opinion. I take one softgel per day, after breakfast, and one capsule of New Roots Olive Leaf Extract twice per day. I should note, here, that I've worked with vitamins and other supplements since I was 24y, and, at this writing, I'm 73y.

Didn't notice anything
I had high hopes of this helping my husband who has Sjorgen's Syndrome which affects the tear glands and the saliva glands. When he starts to eat he coughs because of his dry throat. I was hoping this would finally help to stop the coughing but sadly it did nothing. I had read that it might help to coat the lining of the stomach to ease discomfort there but didn't notice a difference when I used it myself. We took it for 4 months and I would have thought that we would have felt some difference in that time. We didn't notice any other differences in anything else while taking it. Feeling disappointed.

So far so good
Seabuckthorn oil is supposed to be very helpful with scleroderma, which I am diagnosed with. I started to take this product about a month ago and have great hopes for improvement of my conditions. I bought several bottles of New Roots brand and will keep taking it for at least 6 months.

New Roots Seabuckthorn Oil

New Roots Herbal Seabuckthorn softgels are formulated with 1000 mg of omega 7 rich certified organic Seabuckthorn fruit and seed oil, with an additional 40 mg of Goji seed oil. Omega 7 fatty acids are critical to collagen development; collagen is the pivotal protein forming the matrix of skin cells, blood vessels, and for the mucous membranes that facilitate respiratory, digestive, and immune system function. Healthy, glowing skin is a direct reflection of overall health great health. Healthy skin will more effectively; protect you from the elements including bacterial infection, synthesize vitamin D3, and regulate body temperature.

The only other known botanical source of the rare omega 7 fatty acids found in Seabuckthorn is macadamia nuts. Seabuckthorn has also been studied extensively with animal trials that have shown it to inhibit weight gain in animal fed a high fat diet. Long term population studies are underway that prove promising for future therapeutic use for weight control and reduction.

Goji seed oil compliments the formula with fatty acids that promote the production of prostaglandins that regulate inflammatory response, and contribute to good cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and renal health.

Seabuckthorn

These plants thrive in harsh mountain conditions and as such have been consumed in Mongolia, China and Tibet both as a nutrient dense treat, and for its medicinal properties. The bright orange berries of the Seabuckthorn plant, only 1/3 the size of a blueberry, are both tart and bitter to taste and packed with antioxidants.

Seabuckthorn is rich in Vitamins & Omega's
A rich source of vitamins A, C, E and beta carotene, as well as carotenoids and phenolics, such as catechins, gallocatechins and epigallocatechins.

Seabuckthorn oil is also a source of Omega 3, 6, and 9, as well as the lesser known omega 7 fatty acids (40% of Seabuckthorn oil is omega 7 fatty acids), vital to collagen production. Palmetoleic acid, (Omega 7), is a common constituent of adipose tissue as well as a component of skin. It is considered a monounsaturated fat, thought to be high in antioxidants. Having an affinity for the skin, as well as an antioxidant component, it can provide some protection from sun damage, and when applied topically has been shown to increase triglyceride concentration in the lipid barrier of the skin, effectively increasing the protective nature of the stratum corneum. It is said to decrease as we age, potentially making both internal and topical use more important the older we get. It can be used for a variety of skin related issues, including eczema (atopic dermatitis), for the treatment of burns, ulcerations and infections and/or simply everyday use.

Omega 7
Due to the effects that Omega 7 fatty acid has on the stratum cornea of the skin, it have been reported to be beneficial in the prevention of fine lines and wrinkles, often called an anti-ageing agent. There is some research to suggest this fatty acid may have anti-bacterial properties, as well, explaining why individuals use it both internally and topically for the treatment of acne. Omega 7 oils also have an affinity for the mucous membranes of the body, particularly those lining the urogenital and digestive tracts. This is one way in which the juice of the Seabuckthorn berries are said to aid in the prevention and treatment of constipation. They keep the intestinal tract healthy by keeping it moist and mucous secreting, allowing for better absorption of nutrients and healthy flow of wastes.

What you can expect from Seabuckthorn:
Most of the research on Seabuckthorn to date has been shown to be inconclusive. That being said, with further support, there may be evidence to suggest a wide number of health benefits associated with its use:

  • Skin irritations (such as burns and atopic dermatitis)
  • Gastric ulcer
  • Cardiovascular disease and various inflammatory conditions
  • Liver health and protection/prevention of cirrhosis
  • Weight loss
  • Acne
  • Wrinkles
  • Free radical protection
  • Eczema
  • Common colds & even pneumonia!

Seabuckthorn has been suggested to benefit all of these conditions and more. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) , Seabuckthorn juice and oil is commonly used as an expectorant and demulcent for coughs. Recently, animal studies have suggested it also has adaptogenic properties. The oil is often used topically in creams and acne remedies, as it is known to calm acne, help soothe and restore skin, prevent wrinkles, and leave the skin moisturized and protected from free radical damage.
