Each capsule of New Roots Herbal's White Willow Bark contains 400mg of White Willow bark to help reduce inflammation and pain. White willow bark contains salicin, which is a monoglycoside of salicilic acid. This may sound familiar, as this plant is where the common pain reliever aspirin comes from. The bark of this tree is known principally because of its properties to relieve pain and reduce fever. The willow’s bark has the properties of treating fever and inflammation as well as cleaning the blood, and it helps to exchange the nutritive and excretive processes gradually, restoring normal function of the body. It stimulates digestion, eliminates accumulations, and helps in heavy digestion. [VCAPS]

White Willow
I use this for pain. It works. Before i used Tylenol extra strength but ever since I found white willow i dont need the standard pills anymore. It's just not necessary. Plus. i like the willow over the Tylenol, a better feeling as the pain numbs. White willow is also useful for colds, and not just inflammation. If you have body aches, take it. It goes well with Devil’s Claw, also for pain. It works with Turmeric for joint pain, be careful of the stains. It can be mixed with Bromelain or Boswellia (or both) also for joint pain and inflammation.

WHITE WILLOW BARK SUPPLEMENTS

Nature has been a wellspring of remedies since time immemorial, and one particular botanical marvel that continues to shine is White Willow (Salix alba). In fact, ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians and Greeks, documented the use of White Willow bark for alleviating pain and reducing fever. The bark's efficacy was later acknowledged by Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, who prescribed it to ease a variety of disorders.

Native to Europe and parts of Asia, the graceful White Willow tree belongs to the Salicaceae family. It can reach 20 meters and is characterized by its slender branches, elongated leaves, and distinctive white bark. The therapeutic effects of White Willow can be attributed to its biochemical composition, particularly the presence of salicin—a natural compound akin to acetylsalicylic acid, the active ingredient in aspirin. In fact, in the 1800s, salicin was used to develop what we today know as aspirin.

What’s unique about salicin is that when ingested, it is metabolized in the body to produce salicylic acid, which is a compound renowned for its powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic (fever-lowering) properties, making White Willow ideally suited as a natural alternative to Non-Steroidal-Ant-Inflammatory drugs (or NSAIDs). Of course, it's important to mention that NSAIDs, including ibuprofen (such as Nurofen), naproxen (such as Naprosyn)

diclofenac (such as Voltaren) and celecoxib (such as Celebrex) are all highly effective medications. The flip side, however, is that they come with a whole host of potential side effects, contraindications, and risks. In comparison, White Willow is a far safer yet extremely effective choice.
