Organic Connections
Organic Connections' mission is to provide consumer-ready herbs and bulk herbs to people and other businesses alike. They take pride in providing people with quality herbs and herbal products they can trust.
Brand History
Organic Connections is a family-operated and owned business that came from humble beginnings. With a background in trucking, they started a side hustle of hauling organic fruit and vegetables to markets and stores in Toronto and over time, grew into the Organic Connections brand you know and love today.
Demand grew as did the business, and they developed partnerships with distributors to distribute their first line of products, Frontier Natural Products Co-Op. As things continued to grow, they decided to leave the trucking business and focus on organic herbs, spices and related articles.
Fast forward to 1997, they noticed a gap in the market for easily accessible high-quality herbs. They decided to fill this gap and began by making herbal teas, and that’s how Celebration Herbals was born.
While Celebration Herbals is their brand, to this day they also remain a distributor of Frontier Co-operative herbs and other brands. One of their new growing specialities is supplying large volumes of organic ingredients and spices to bakeries, neutraceuticals and food manufacturers.
Their brands include:
- Organic Connections: their brand name and the company that packs and supplies herbs and spices from around the world
- Celebration Herbals: their sister manufacturing company supplies herbal teas, bottled herbs and spices
- Wild Canadian Tea: an all-natural and wild harvested, organic tea brand
- Sage Spirit: smudge products and incense
- Mind Your Bees: beeswax food wraps
- Singing Dog Vanilla: a vanilla company that shares profits with farmers and employees
- Coast Mountain Essential Oils: handcrafted essential oils inspired by British Columbia
- Turmeric Teas: an Ayurvedic tea company inspired by rhythmic flow
Quality Control Measures
Organic Connections is serious about quality and ethical farming practices. As their name suggests, most of the products they manufacture are organic. They are transparent about their certifications, and about which products aren’t organic. You can tell which products aren’t organic because they will be marked as “ethically wildcrafted” or “pure quality.”
Since 1997, Organic Connections has been Pro-Cert certified for following organic practices and providing organic products. All of their organic products meet COR (Canadian Organic Regulation) standards and are acceptable to the USDA-NOP.
Beyond being organically certified, they also possess organic processor seals and are certified Kosher. Their facilities are also inspected regularly by a third-party agency, Pro-Cert Organic Systems and KSA to make sure they comply with the appropriate standards and protocols.
