500MG ACTIVE CYSTEINE IN THE SUPERIOR "N-ACETYL" FORM.

The ideal antioxidant supplement for the modern age! Derived from a natural process of fermentation, Organika's active NAC can help provide optimum antioxidant protection from free radicals caused by enviromental pollution, cigarette smoke and alcohol. Practitioners often recommend it for patients with mercury or heavy metal toxicity (from the environment or from dental amalgam fillings) because of its ability to bind to these toxins easily and allow your body to excrete them. NAC can also help to provide liver support because of its potent detoxifying effect, and can also provide respiratory and lung support because of its ability to reduce mucous. Good Company, Great Product
Organika is a good reputable company and NAC is one of many products of theirs that work. I ordered this to help with inflammation in the body, it seems to help although I do want to take it long term to really see the effects.

It has been helping my husband with chest issues, he has not had his pneumonia return since taking NAC. The capsules are easy to take, we will both continue taking this long term.

Organika NAC
My Dad suffered greatly in hospital which reeked havoc on his entire system plus the threat of pneumonia. His lungs were seriously full of mucous and constant coughing when I finally got him out of there. After deeply researching his issues and shopping online here at my fav National Nutrition, I cured all but the catheter caused large kidney stone from ignored in hospital bladder infection and my 85 yo Dad is doing 95% better at home. This is a great product and every 3 weeks I take us off for 1 week. Its a great product!!

NAC reduces mucous
Because I was diagnosed with COPD and have chronic bronchitis and had just come off a bad viral respiratory infection I tried Organika NAC. It helped tremendously to reduce mucous production and thereby stop my coughing.

What is NAC?
N-acetyl CYSTEINE (NAC) is a derivative of the amino acid L-cysteine and is a more stable form of this amino acid for supplementation. NAC is a precursor to the important antioxidant, glutathione. glutathione works in the liver to change chemicals and metabolic byproducts into harmless substances for excretion from the body.

NAC is used by the liver and the lymphocytes to detoxify chemicals and other poisons. It detoxifies heavy metals like mercury, cadmium and lead, and is also a potent detoxifier of alcohol, tobacco smoke, and environmental pollutants, all of which supress the immune system.

It protects all cells of the body from damage due to aging, helps immune cells kill invading microbes (especially viruses) and stops cells from being harmed by radiation and chemotherapy. NAC is recommended by natural health practitioners for conditions such as frequent colds and flus, asthma, bronchitis, acetaminophen toxicity, heavy metal toxicity, low immunit functioning and decreased liver functioning. Supplementation of NAC has been shown to improve the body's glutathione levels.

What is Glutathione?
Glutathione is a sulphur-based molecule made from three amino acids cysteine, glycine and glutamic acid. It is an important antioxidant in the liver's detoxification pathways. Glutathione changes chemicals and metabolic byproducts into harmless substances for excretion from the body, by deactivating harmful free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that in their bid to become more stable must bump into healthy cells and cause damage. Glutathione is responsible for detoxifying many compounds, including those found in cigarette smoke, alcohol, aspirin and acetaminophen. As an antioxidant in other parts of the body, glutathione protects red blood cells, helps immune cells kill invading microbes and stops cells from being harmed by radiation.

What is an Antioxidant?
Antioxidants are nutrients that help to protect your body from the damage caused by free radicals - the toxic molecules that play a role in the development of diseases from cataracts to heart disease and arthritis. While our bodies produce some of these free radicals as the "garbage" from some its natural processes, we are now exposed to more and more of them from our environment than ever before.
