What is Chanca Piedra?
Literally, it is a Spanish word that translates into "stone crusher." The native Indians of the Amazon Rain Forest gave this plant this name because of its effectiveness in dissolving kidney stones and gallstones.

Are there Clinical Studies?
There have not been many studies done with Chanca Piedra. However, one study conducted in 1999 showed Chanca Piedra to be effective in inhibiting calcium oxalate crystal formation, one of the main causes of kidney stones.
According to James Duke and Rodolfo Vasquez, chanca piedra has proven to be antihepatotoxic, antispasmodic, antiviral, bactericidal, a diuretic, febrifugal, and related to hypoglycemic activity.
Indian researchers showed that the antihepatoxic (liver protecting) activity of Chanca Piedra was attributed to 2 compounds, phyllanthin and hypophyllanthin.
The diuretic, hypotensive (low blood pressure), and hypoglycemic effects were documented in a 1995 human study.
Studies on combating hepatitis B have been inconclusive.It appears that animal and in vitro studies have shown strong promise; however, human studies have failed to produce the same results.
How to Use?
Kidney Stones:
2 capsules 3 times daily, drink at least 12 cups of distilled water daily or as directed by a health care provider. Do not take it for more than 4 weeks consecutively.
Gallstones:
2 capsules 3 times daily, drink at least 12 cups of distilled water daily or as directed by a health care provider. Do not take it for more than 4 weeks consecutively.
Kidney, Urinary Tract, Bladder Infection:
1 capsules 3 times daily, drink at least 12 cups of distilled water daily or as directed by a health care provider. Do not take it for more than 4 weeks consecutively.
Kidney Cleanse:
1 capsule twice daily or as directed by a health care provider. For better results, add 1 capsule of K & B Form. Drink at least 10 cups of water daily. Do not exceed two weeks.
