ChewableEster C from SISU Great tasting and Convenient
Most people consume Vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid, but ascorbic acid passes out of the body quickly in urine, so little of it is absorbed. Also, ascorbic acid can cause gassiness, bloating, and diarrhea. Ester-C is different. It is less acidic so that it can be absorbed without discomfort. Ester-C also appears to be better absorbed than ascorbic acid. One study suggested that Ester-C acts directly on cell membranes. Another study showed that 24 hours after supplementation with Ester-C, the white blood cells of subjects who had taken Ester-C had absorbed more Vitamin C than the white blood cells of subjects who had taken regular ascorbic acid.
Other Important Points about SISU Ester-C Chewable
Ester-C, Chewable comes in Citrus Punch, Wildberry, and Grape flavours. These delicious flavours make them appealing and easy-to-take for adults and children alike. Ester-C is also easy on teeth and will not erode enamel like ascorbic acid, the form is this nutrient most often used in children's chewables. Vitamin C can cause gassiness, bloating, or diarrhea. Although this is much less likely with Ester C than with regular ascorbic acid, an individual with a sensitive gastrointestinal (GI) system may still experience discomfort. Start with the lowest recommended dosage and increase gradually. If intestinal discomfort occurs, return to a lower dosage
The Benefits of Vitamin C
Vitamin C is best known for strengthening the immune system. As little as five grams of Vitamin C increases production of white blood cells, which are the body's disease-fighting "soldier cells." Increasing the dosage to 10 grams daily increases the protective effect. This nutrient can keep the immune system healthy even when it is besieged by germs (such as cold and flu viruses), sugar (which suppresses white blood cell production), and tobacco, caffeine, and alcohol (which attack the immune system in various ways). Vitamin C is also a warrior in the fight against heart disease because it assists with the metabolism of cholesterol. When the blood contains too much LDL cholesterolthe "bad" cholesterolit can accumulate in the arteries. This happens especially when the lining of the arteries is damaged. This damage can be caused by oxidation. Outside the body, the effects of oxidation can be seen in the rust on a car. Inside the body, oxidation leads to the creation of free radicals. Free radicals are like sparks that cause instant injury, and then quickly disintegrate. Cholesterol collects on injury sites, leading to atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, which is a leading contributor to heart disease. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that soaks up free radicals in much the same way that a sponge absorbs water. This reduces the risk of atherosclerosis and consequently also cardiovascular mortality.
