What is Buffered C?

Leukocytes (white blood cells) - the immune system's first line of defense - require Vitamin C to function. Macrophages and lymphocytes require high levels of Vitamin C to function optimally.

In a study of people exposed to toxic chemicals, initial tests revealed severe depletion of NK cells. After taking Buffered C, NK cell activity increased up to ten-fold in more than 75% of the study participants.

Allergic reactions occur when the immune system attempts to expel things like pollen or pollutants that most people tolerate but that can cause escalating problems in people with sensitive systems.

The immune system also uses Vitamin C to make a substance called complement, which determines how strong an allergic reaction will be, and inhibits synthesis of certain types of prostaglandins, which cause swelling and inflammation.

Complement helps the immune system differentiate between substances it should expel and those it can ignore, and inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis minimizes the swelling and inflammation triggered by the allergic response.
