St. Claire’s Organics Brand History
Starting in 1993, when master herbalist Debra St. Claire co-founded The Ethnomedicine Preservation Project, an international initiative that preserves the medicinal plant knowledge of Indigenous cultures. It was this initiative that sparked her to start St. Claire’s Organics as a way to help fund this project.
Debra had years of experience in product development in the natural foods industry. In fact, she developed Altoids, however, she wanted to create something of her own that was made with better-for-you ingredients.
In 1994, she launched St. Claire’s Organics, and she designed the tins to include the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She also wanted to uplift customers with a message so she added inspirational quotes inside each tin.
The mints became a raging success, attracting both local and international customers. Since its inception, St. Claire’s Organics has added 18 different herbal and fruit flavours, all in a nutritious base of organic molasses granules.
Aside from creating quality, all-natural products, St. Claire’s Organics has donated 10% of profits to the EthnoMedicine Preservation Project since 1994.
