Stop it Cold
EchinAce Throat Spray with Propolis and Sage

The Soothing Infection Fighter
EchinAce Throat Spray is a combination well loved by users and practitioners because of its high degree of effectiveness. When you suffer from sore throats associated with colds or infections like tonsillitis, reach for EchinAce Throat Spray. EchinAce Throat Spray has demonstrable antibacterial and analgesic qualities. Because it is antimicrobial, EchinAce Throat Spray significantly reduces sore throat symptoms while at the same time diminishing the intensity and duration of colds, flu or throat infections.

The ingredients in this formula include medicinal plants with countless years of traditional use behind them. A tremendous amount of modern clinical and laboratory work confirms that they are especially effective for treating sore throats associated with colds, flu, and other infections.

Echinacea is the infection fighter par excellence. Its benefits escalate by combining it with the other herbs in this formula. Calendula, sage, licorice and propolis are all anti-infective. The anti-infective properties of each of these herbs are improved by their synergistic dynamics. Propolis has the added benefit of analgesia, hence its utility for easing the pain of sore throats. Marshmallow and licorice provide a critical demulcent soothing effect to this combination. While soothing and anti-infective in their own right, fennel and licorice both confer the benefit of good taste.

Other combinations to consider: Use in combination with EchinaSeal for acute upper respiratory tract infections, colds, flu, tonsillitis, ear, nose, lung or throat infections. Use in combination with Respirafect (Usnea Combo) for lung infections or with Sinafect (Elder Combo) for sinus infections. For longer-term immune support, consider our Deep Immune formula and/or EchinAce.

Testimonial

The sore, raw feeling had disappeared.
"A short while ago I woke up in the middle of the night with my throat feeling raw and sore. I was sure that the next day I'd be down for the count feeling rotten and sick. All the same, hoping for the best, I crawled out of bed and grabbed my bottle of Echinace Throat Spray. Sleepily I gave my throat a couple of sprays and returned to bed. Lo and behold, the next morning, much to my surprise and delight, the sore, raw feeling had disappeared, leaving me free to tackle another work day without the stress of being sick."

The cold and flu virusesare everywhere; you can catch it from a handshake, moisture particles in the air, or even a door knob, but with the right diet, herbs, and supplements you can improve your immune system's reaction...

Colds and flus are a part of everyday life. They are usually caused by viruses, although if left untreated, bacteria can move in and cause infection as well. Colds and flus can be treated effectively with natural therapies that both kill the infecting organism and support the immune system.

Lingering or recurrent infection is a signal of an immune system that is overwhelmed. Natural therapies are also helpful in these cases, to restore disease resistance.

Cold symptoms include congestion, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, dry cough, swollen glands and a low fever. As the cold progresses discharges may increase and become green or yellow in colour. The duration of a cold is usually 7 10 days. Flus usually have the same symptoms as a cold but are more severe. High fever, chills and body ache also occur. Flus can also attack the gastrointestinal system and cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The duration of a flu is usually one week, but full recovery can take longer.

Conventional treatment involves the use of antibiotics if the cold has become bacterial. This usually takes care of the current infection. However, the body becomes susceptible to subsequent infections if the friendly bacteria are not replaced. The overuse of antibiotics has also lead to antibiotic resistant strains of various organisms. Individuals can help to minimize resistance by using antibiotics sparingly and always taking recommendations until they are finished.

There are many physical therapies for colds and flus. Hot mustard packs applied to the chest decrease fever, eliminate toxins and speed healing. They can be used every second day for a week. Warm, humid air prevents drying of the mucus membranes.

Perform steam inhalations, or use a humidifier, with added thyme, sage or eucalyptus oil. Use hydrotherapy to boost the immune system. At the end of your shower alternate one minute of hot water with one minute of cold water. Alternate several times always ending with cold.

Good hygiene is important to prevent the spread of colds and flus. Use disposable tissues when coughing or sneezing to prevent viral spread. Throw tissues in a receptacle that is away from the living quarters. Wash your hands frequently, with soap.

Keep dishes, utensils and toothbrushes used by the ill person away from those used by other house members. Do not use antibacterial soaps or cleaning products. They can actually lead to an increase in the virulence, or disease-causing potential, of viruses and bacteria in the home.

Dietary approaches to colds and flus are as follows. Increase fluid intake to decrease the viscosity of mucous secretions. A diet high in raw fruits and vegetables provides a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Onions and garlic are good sources of substances that make up anti-inflammatory compounds and help to kill microbes. Flaxseed and fish oils contain essential fatty acids that are anti-inflammatory. Avoid animal products because they contain inflammatory precursors. Avoid dairy products, processed foods, white flour and sugar products all of which increase mucous production.
