A Family Company: Strauss Naturals Brand History

Herbal medicine has been a passion for many generations of the Strauss family. Strauss Naturals began when Peter Strauss’ father fell ill with a heart attack and when arriving home from the hospital didn’t have the strength to walk across their living room. It was at that moment that he knew if he wanted to get better, he would have to turn to natural solutions to help support his cardiovascular health at its core.

He came up with an herbal recipe for a heart tincture that he believed would help him recover sooner. This concoction worked well, improving his condition within weeks and within months, he was hitting the slopes skiing again. This was the beginning of the Strauss Naturals staple product, Heartdrops.

Once they saw how well this blend worked, they wanted to share it with others. Within a year, people from all overWestern Canada and Northwestern USA travelled to the Strauss family home to get their hands on this miracle supplement. It was at this point that Peter Strauss’ father decided to go all in on the herbal business.

Upon Peter’s graduation in 1982, Strauss Naturals moved from their humble home to a local small shop. They started conducting seminars to spread the word about Heartdrops, this is how they got their products into local natural health food stores.

People then started requesting remedies for other ailments, and that’s how their other products were born. In 1989, they purchased their own space and manufacturing facility, and by 2000, they outgrew that setup and moved to their current, larger facility. Strauss Heartdrops then swept the nation by storm and made their way into the international market.

Strauss Quality Control Measures

A supplement is only as good as its purity, potency and ingredient quality. That’s why Strauss Naturals only harvests pure herbs to use in their supplements. Each ingredient is tested at the raw material stage for identity and only the best ones are passed along to be used in their formulas.

Third-party clinical trials have been conducted on Strauss Heartdrops and their findings showed that the 10 subjects aged 20-67 years old who used Heartdrops during the 2-month long trial had a significant decrease in their blood cholesterol levels, whereas the control group had no changes. Blood pressure was also measured periodically every day and it was discovered that after Heartdrops were taken, blood pressure also significantly decreased for up to 5 hours after administration. They found this to be significant since blood cholesterol levels and blood pressure are two contributing factors to heart disease.
