Treatment recommendations, at the onset of symptoms, are to take one dose under the tongue every 8 hours for a maximum of 3 times/day. If you are already suffering from the flu, take one dose every morning and evening for 3 days.

Oscillococcinum is the remedy that I would suggest for the flu. It works quite well. The trick is to take the whole vial last thing at night before going to bed and not eat or drink anything after. You will feel a lot better the next day.

Whole garlic contains a compound called allin. When garlic is crushed or chewed, this compound turns into allicin, the main active ingredient in garlic.
However, allicin is unstable, so it quickly converts to other sulfur-containing compounds thought to give garlic its medicinal properties.

The flu is no fun! I actually never heard of the two common natural/holistic flu remedy ingredients before-anas barbariae hepatis and cordis extractum-and I didn't know that these were made from the heart and liver of wild duck either: that makes sense, though given that as you state, these organs are considered to be resevoirs for the influenzae virus and wild ducks are vectors for this virus. Are there any plant-based remedies that you might recommend for flu? I'm wondering as I am plant-based myself and really care about sustainability so I'm not so keen on having wild duck parts!
