Ingredients:
| 2/3 cup honey | 1/2 cup lime juice | 2 cup ice |
| 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves | 1/4 cup apple juice | |
| 1/2 cup lemon juice | 2 cup cold water |
Directions
- Using a tool or your hands, freshly squeeze and measure out your lemon and lime juice. Place into a blender.
- Combine all other ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth – you don’t want your ice to be too chunky, so try using crushed ice if possible!

Make It This Way
If you prefer, you can use maple syrup, agave or yacon syrup instead of honey.
Swap out the apple juice for your favourite juice instead, we suggest grapefruit, orange or watermelon juice for a refreshing taste!

This healthy citrus honey basil refresher is the perfect drink to have on a hot day and is a great addition to the standard lemonade too! I would love this as a mocktail as well for those nights where you do not feel like drinking alcohol but want to have a fun drink! Great idea, also super healthy which I love, and perfect for the summer months! I look forward to trying this, thank you so much for sharing - it looks so delicious and refreshing as well, especially in this nice summer heat!
Hello,
Indeed, this is a great mocktail and very refreshing on warmer days. The citrus makes this a nice detox drink and the honey adds just the right amount of sweetness. You can make it by the glass, or make a pitcher full to have on hand!
Wow, I wish I would have come across this recipe during the hot weather season. I'm going to have to try this out anyway, but especially during the summer it would be perfect. So much versatility too. If you have a high-quality blender you could even just cube up an apple and blend it up instead of using apple juice so that you'd get the extra fiber from the whole apple. A touch of alcohol would make this a delicious cocktail, but even without it would be a delicious party drink.
Hello Wendy,
This drink is super refreshing! Good tip on blending up an apple, we hope you enjoy it!
This one is another yummy one, but for colder weather:

Stay well!
I love how your recipes make me think of the tastes of various family members who I am fond of: the idea of sharing something healthful with loved ones for them to hopefully enjoy is something very human. Anyway, this is an awesome recipe! My Father indeed loves all of these flavors (he is particularly fond of honey, and also lemon & apple)...I love how this recipe only uses a 1/4th cup apple juice so most of the sugar is from the honey :)
Hello Rachel,
We're glad our recipes can make you think of family to enjoy them with. This refresher is light and of course, refreshing. We hope you and your father enjoy it!
