REISHI TINCTURE
Mode Of Action
To this day, over 400 constituents have been identified in reishi, mostly carbohydrates such as polysaccharides (βeta-D-glucan, ganoderanes A,B and C) oligosaccharides, lipids (oleic acid), alkaloids, triterpenes (ganoderic acid, ganodermic acid), proteins (LingZhi-8), steroids (ganodosterone), phenols, minerals (zinc, copper, iodine, selenium, iron), organic germanium, vitamins, amino acids and volatile oils.
The polysaccharides in reishi have been the subject of many studies. One of the major medicinal properties which has been demonstrated for reishi is its powerful immune-modulating action, which can be mostly attributed to the polysaccharides it contains. Our production method, which consists of a double extraction, allows an optimal extraction of these polysaccharides, as they are mostly water-soluble. These constituents support the immunity in individuals whose immune functions are weakened due to high stress. As an adaptogen, reishi’s effects are mild and cumulative. Reishi acts on the adrenal cortex, reduces fatigue caused by stress and boosts memory and vitality.
Reishi regulates excessive immune responses such as allergies by blocking the secretion of histamine. Clinical observations have shown that reishi stabilizes immunoglobulin levels by either reducing excess antibodies or increasing their numbers if too low. Ganoderma lucidum can prevent bronchitis. It promotes the regeneration of the bronchial epithelium. Reishi is also anti inflammatory and expectorant.
Reishi is antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal. Its antibacterial action has been demonstrated on Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pneumococcus bacillus and Helicobacter pylori. Preliminary research indicates that reishi could be beneficial for people with the Epstein-Barr virus which is associated with mononucleosis. As an antiviral, it inhibits the Herpes simplex virus.
Many studies on its anti-angiogenic, antitumoral and antimutagenic properties have given substance to the ancestral use of reishi. These discoveries have validated millennia of reishi use by the Asians. Many studies on the use of reishi in the treatment of certain cell growths have contributed to the recognition of reishi as a complementary treatment of cell growths in many countries.
Reishi’s triterpenes have a beneficial effect on cardiovascular health. It is a heart tonic that normalizes blood pressure, reduces platelet aggregation and regulates cholesterol levels. Triterpenes present in reishi also acts as liver protectors and play a positive role in the treatment of hepatitis. This mushroom is an antioxidant and helps regulate blood sugar.
