Ultra Glucose Control is formulated for the nutritional management of glucose response. It is designed for individuals who may need additional support in controlling their blood sugar levels. Ultra Glucose Control delivers a ratio-balanced combination of carbohydrates, protein, and fat (40-30-30) to manage glucose response, consistent with recommendations from clinical centers. Formulated with MetaRelease™—a propietary blend of slow-release, complex carbohydrates (UCAN SuperStarch®*) and fiber—along with high quality proteins and branchedchain amino acids, Ultra Glucose Control supports a balanced glucose response and sustained energy release.
Blood glucose levels are extremely important to overall health because they play a key role in sustaining the energy a body needs to get through the day. Unfortunately, thanks to many factors, including a standard American diet consisting of foods high in sugars, fats, and refined carbohydrates, recent years have seen a significant increase in health problems attributed to unbalanced glucose levels.
How common are problems with blood glucose management?
According to a recent study, nearly 50% of adults living in the United States have diabetes or pre-diabetes, a condition where a person already has elevated blood glucose and is at risk to develop diabetes.1 In such a scenario, achieving stabilized blood glucose levels becomes an essential goal.
Individuals with unstable blood glucose levels usually experience blood sugar spikes and crashes due to their body’s inability to maintain a glucose baseline.2-3 To help manage blood glucose at a healthy range, glucose should be released consistently into the bloodstream. Dietary and lifestyle intervention may be the key to achieving this balance.
A new randomized study demonstrated that 16 weeks of intervention with Ultra Glucose Control, in combination with a structured dietary plan, resulted in significant improvement in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c, a biomarker reflecting the average blood glucose levels over the previous 3 months) and body weight in overweight/obese patients with type 2 diabetes compared with the dietary plan alone.4
UCAN SuperStarch® is a key component of the diet featured in the randomized control trial and is a critical piece of the formula that sustains a healthy blood glucose response. Produced through a hydrothermal process, UCAN SuperStarch® is strategically designed to yield a sizeable molecule that is structurally different and larger than a regular complex carbohydrate and is more capable of sustained release of glucose.
Ultra Glucose Control contains 15 grams of UCAN SuperStarch® per serving in combination with a high-quality prebiotic IMO fiber in a blend known as MetaRelease®.
In addition to UCAN SuperStarch® and MetaRelease®, Ultra Glucose Control:
-Is designed with a 40-30-30 ratio-balanced combination of macronutrients (proteins, fats, and carbohydrates) to manage glucose response
-Delivers 15 grams of high-quality pea and rice protein along with added branched-chain amino acids
-Delivers 22 essential vitamins and minerals
-Available in chocolate and vanilla flavors in both 14-serving and 30-serving sizes
Notice: This medical food is to be used under the direct supervision of a physician or other licensed healthcare practitioner for patients with prediabetes or diabetes, or those who need support for glucose response management. Do not engage in any diet supplying less than 800 calories per day without medical supervision.

Diabetes
Diabetes – more and more common in North America every year – occurs when there is too much sugar in the blood. The most prevalent form of the disease is TYPE II diabetes. In this type, the person’s pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin to metabolize the amount of sugar that they are ingesting.
A diet high in refined carbohydrates and nutrient deficiency are large contributing factors to “age onset diabetes”, as it is often called; excess body weight, lack of exercise, and heredity also often play significant roles when a person develops diabetes.\
The symptoms of diabetes often sneak up on people over time usually beginning mildly, then progressively becoming more severe. They include: fatigue, “brain fog”, thirst, constant hunger, excessive urination, weight gain, and general malaise. Complicating things for the diabetic is a fluctuation between too much sugar in the blood and low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Hypoglycemia often creates seemingly uncontrollable and powerful cravings for sweet foods which, when satisfied, causes low blood sugar to swing back to excess sugar.
