is the best of the bee, combined with exceptional herbs that promote energy and well-being. Each component of Pollen Plus Energy is highly regarded, but the synergistic effect of these classic nutrients and herbs may be good nutritional insurance to cope with the demands and stress of daily living.
The synergistic combination inPollen Plus Energyincludes:
Bee Pollen
Bee pollen is a powder that is collected from flowering plants by bees. It is a nutritious substance, containing significant amounts of protein, B vitamins, vitamin C, carotene, minerals, essential fatty acids and plant sterols. For individuals who lack energy and suffer from depression, bee pollen provides B vitamins, calcium, magnesium and iron.
These vitamins and minerals support the adrenal gland (gives you the get-up-and-go energy), brain (supports the production of brain chemicals) and blood (boosts the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood). Bee pollen contains plant sterols and vitamin C, both of which support the immune system. Plus bee pollen is an antimicrobial agent. It is used to treat seasonal allergies and colds and flus. People with intestinal diseases or compromised cells may find bee pollen helpful because of its easy to use nutrients and immune regulating properties.
Propolis
Bee propolis is a plant resin collected by bees for use in building their hive. It has bacteria fighting properties and studies show that it stimulates immune cells called macrophages. Macrophages chew up infected cells and cellular debris. Bee propolis applied topically on bruises, scrapes and cuts helps to prevent infection and speeds tissue healing. Taken internally propolis fights infection in the respiratory tract, stops coughing and soothes irritated throats. Bee propolis is sometimes added to mouthwashes and toothpaste. It fights bad breath by killing bacteria that colonize the mouth.
Siberian Ginseng
Herbalists have used Siberian Ginseng to treat a variety of psychological disturbances, ranging from depression to insomnia. The method of action is not well understood but in animals researchers have found that Siberian ginseng extract increases the biogenic amines (dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, serotonin) content of the brain. In humans, a correct balance of these neurotransmitters is linked with psychological well-being.
Green Tea
Green tea's polyphenols have been well studied for their pharmacological activity. Green tea has many benefits for cardiovascular health. Green tea intake is shown to decrease levels of LDL cholesterol, the cholesterol responsible for cholesterol plaques and the storage of fat, and triglycerides. Green tea also increases levels of HDL cholesterol, which is responsible for moving stored fat to the liver for processing and excretion from the body. HDL cholesterol protects against plaque formation. It also improves blood circulation and decreases inflammation in vessels. Thus green tea can be used to prevent stroke and heart attack. The polyphenols are also antioxidants, protecting cells from oxidative damage. Green tea's antioxidant properties neutralize free radicals and therefore reduce damage to tissue. Green tea's epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells and prevent the spread of tumours to other areas of the body.
