It does work. It helped me to sleep a lot better and felt relaxed physically and mentally. I only wish to know if it's okay to use every day for a long time. Internet says no more than 8 weeks.

Worked wonders for me
I have been taking ashwagandha for at least 4 years now. When I was introduced to it my stress level was through the roof and I was also experiencing several panic attacks daily. I noticed improvement the first day taking it. I was blown away by these results. Now I have to say I did not follow the recommended dosage AS I KNEW IT WOULD NOT HARM ME TO TAKE MORE. And like I said I was stressed beyond belief. If I remember correctly I tripled the dosage the first few weeks, days where the stress factors were not as bad I took less. NOW I AM NOT SUGGESTING YOU DO THIS it was my choice to do this and mine alone. It is what I needed at the time. Nowadays, I take it maybe once or twice a month and some months don't need it at all. But to me it is also now my security blanket sort of speak, I never allow myself to not have any in my house. Just in case. I definitely recommend this product in either this form or the liquid form.

Synergy with my anti anxiety med
I have anxiety problems and find that taking this with my lorazepam makes it work better. Maybe because they work in different ways in the brain.

Ashwagandha can help you through stressful times...
Ashwagandha is an Ayurvedic herb that has been traditionally used to support the body during stressful times, an adrenal and nervous system tonic. It prevents the depletion of vitamin C. vitamin C concentrates in the adrenal gland, the organ responsible for the body's adaptation to stress. Low levels of vitamin C hamper the adrenal gland's ability to produce hormones, like cortisol, and thus lead to stress-related illnesses.
Ashwagandha also modulates the immune system, which is often depleted by stress. A good example of this is the cold or flu that someone comes down with immediately after the project has been completed or the last exam has been written. Ashwagandha has been studied for its ability to increase sexual functioning and physical endurance. This may also be due to Ashwagandha's support of the adrenal gland because testosterone is produced in the adrenals and is responsible for libido and muscle growth.
Ashwagandha can be purchased as raw herb, liquid extract or tincture and encapsulated herb. The root is the part of the plant that is used medicinally.
Pregnant women should not use Ashwagandha because it may increase the risk of miscarriage. It may increase the effect of sedative and anti-anxiety medication.
