Now Foods is an American company originating from Chicago. They manufacture natural supplements that support the needs of their consumers at an affordable price. Their promise of quality, sustainability, and transparency is what drives their everyday decisions and practices.

History of Now Foods

In 1962, Now Foods started as a small chain of health food stores in Chicago. However, due to the high cost of natural health products, the founder, Elwood Richard, started formulating their own products, known as Now Foods in 1968.

By 2000, Now earned an A rating and GMP certification from the NPA and attained their certified organic manufacturer status. During this same year, they purchased Puresource, a natural products distributor in Guelph, Ontario, and that’s when Now Supplements Canada was first introduced to Canadian consumers.

By 2018, Now gained ISO certification, and by 2020, they were honoured with PETA’s Cruelty-Free certification. In 2023, they introduced their 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Resin supplement bottles to help protect the environment.

Now Foods is still owned by the Richard family and offers a diverse range of products to support consumer's health needs.

As mentioned above, they moved to 100% PCR bottles, and in 2023 they partnered with One Tree Planted to plant 55,000 trees. Their facilities operate using energy-efficient lighting, solar panels, and water conservation.
