The calendula flower is a small yellow flower, that looks like a cross between a baby sunflower and marigold, which makes sense considering it’s part of the sunflower family. For many years, the flower has been used in herbal combinations supporting muscle spasms and women’s health. Organic Connections harvests the calendula flowers in a way that cares for the planet, following certified organic practices. They packages the whole flower so you can use it to make your own herbal blends or make a bitter tasting tea with a sweet aroma. [WHOLE]

Returned
This item was returned because of low quality flowers inside the bag. Similar to the Mullein leaf, the buds were dead on arrival. No life in them, no scent, no taste, and it eve gave me a stomach ache. After I brew, I knew it was not good. If Celebration Herbals make this tea, I am sure it will be a good product, for this brand has a lower quality threshold, and I advise getting the teas instead to ensure a higher standard of quality.

Calendula
By: Articles by a Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.)

Calendula is most often used externally to help with skin conditions...

Marigold flowers are a common sight in our gardens. Historically these flowers were thought to lift the spirits and encourage cheerfulness. Medicinally calendula is used to decrease inflammation and stimulate the growth of skin and mucus membranes. Extracts of calendula have also been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria and viruses. All of these properties make calendula an excellent wound healer and a good addition to your first aid kit.

Calendula is commonly used for burns, cuts, rashes, acne, eczema, psoriasis and any other skin conditions. Calendula can be gargled to heal sores or abrasions in the mouth. It is also reported to stop toothaches. Internally calendula can be used to soothe the stomach lining and may be recommended for gastritis and stomach ulcers.

Calendula is most commonly used externally and is found in many salves and creams. Dried calendula can be made into a tea and used a wash or soaked into a poultice. For internal use calendula is found in capsules or tincture.

Calendula should not be used internally in pregnancy because it may lead to miscarriage. Calendula is a member of the ragweed family and should be used with caution by sensitive individuals.
