Adaptogens are a class of herbs or nutrients that help us adapt to stress. Particularly, they help us strengthen out adrenal glands, the key factor that affects our response to stress. We know that stress can be a positive or negative event but it's our adrenal glands, or the strength of our adrenal glands, that decide that for us. Stress can be a motivator or it can be something that makes us tired, cranky, or irritable, and having healthy adrenal glands can make this a positive response.
Why is adrenal exhaustion so common?
It is more common than we think because we are pushing ourselves harder, working late, sleeping less, but in turn get less nutrients from our food. So, when we ask those adrenal glands for a few favors every now and then, to help us with stress, they eventually get tired and upset and are not able to keep up with the body's demands and requests throughout the day. So, unfortunately, those adrenal glands get overwhelmed, they get exhausted, and we don't get the same response or we don't get the same support that we're used to getting from those adrenal glands.
What does it feel like?
It feels like the last day of school. If we can compare this to the first day of school we know that when we go back to school after summer vacation, we are excited, we are rejuvenated, and we're refreshed. We get that first assignment and it's actually exciting. We want to get to the library. We want to start researching. We want to use all different types of colours and fonts and really neat resources. This type of stress really gets us excited.
Now, adrenal exhaustion is like the last day of school. After so many exams, after so many assignments, we don't have that same drive, desire, and ambition. So instead of being excited and motivated by this stress, we are actually irritated, we procrastinate, we wait to the last minute, and we are not engaged. We do not give it our best creative effort and usually, we are not excited whatsoever. Adrenal exhaustion is when those adrenal glands don't get us excited or motivated anymore and we lose that drive, desire, and ambition.
What is B Calm?
It is a formula that contains all your B Vitamins in their appropriate amounts along with an adaptogenic herb called Rhodiola.
Why are B Vitamins so important?
They are important for both brain and adrenal functions because they help us to produce a variety of neuro transmitters or hormones that carry out specific functions in our body. They can help with all your happy hormones like serotonin and dopamine. They help with your adrenal glands because instead of giving us the energy that we are missing, it actually strengthens our adrenal glands so that we can produce it on demand whenever we need it.
How do people feel after taking it?
After taking it, you can expect to feel rejuvenated, and refreshed. You should see both your mental and physical stamina improve. What you might find is if you're studying, you'll be able to study longer. You'll retain information a lot quicker. If you're at work, you might know you are more engaged. You're more excited to take on new challenges. You're looking forward to new opportunities instead of being irritated or instead of trying to procrastinate or just make it throughout the day.
When should people take it?
The best time to take it would be in the morning and early in the afternoon. It's going to give you a little more energy, a little bit more pep in your step. You're going to want to take it in the most productive hours of your day. Not that it is going to keep you up at night, but we don't want to be staying up all night with all that creative energy within us.
What is the daily dosage?
The optimal dose is going to be one capsule twice per day. So, once in the morning and a second dose in the early afternoon.
What makes the Rhodiola different than the raw form?
It has been specially formulated to contain the right amounts of the active ingredients, especially 3% of the Rosavins or the active ingredient in Rhodiola.
What are the results?
People report that their energy levels get better. They report that they are less irritable. They get along better with their spouses, their children, and their coworkers. All of this happens fast. Usually within 2 or 3 days people are experiencing the effects.
