NMN is a NAD+ precursor, that has been shown to enhance energy metabolism, suppress age-associated weight gain, improve insulin sensitivity, improve eye function, improve mitochondrial metabolism and prevent age-linked changes in gene expression.
NAD+ or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a critical coenzyme found in every cell in the body. Meaning it helps to initiate or assist in hundreds of metabolic reactions. Declining NAD+ levels are seen alongside a loss in the function of our cells, a natural function of aging.
NAD+ has also been linked to improved cardiovascular health, reduced inflammation and enhanced cognitive function. In animal studies, NMN supplementation has been shown to extend lifespan and improve the health of aged animals.
